Ruud Voesten (1987) is a drummer and composer currently living in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.
He studied with Joop van Erven, René Creemers, Joost Patočka and Hans van Oosterhout and earned his master's degree in 2015 at the Codarts Conservatory.
Ruud leads his own band, Ambrosia, for which he wrote a full repertoire inspired by Dante Alighieri's Inferno. Their first single 'Clickbait Merchants' just got released and the full record will come out on ZenneZ Records in the fall of 2023.
In 2022 Ruud organised the first edition of alternative jazz festival Branie. Due to Corona restrictions no audience was allowed, but all bands and visual artists colaborated to create live recorded music with visuals, published online.
Besides Ambrosia, Ruud works with Marit van der Lei, RHEIN and Evi Bosman.
During the years Ruud collaborated with a lot of different artists, like Bob Stoloff, Tamir Hendelman, Stefan Lievestro, Jasper van Damme, Lars Dietrich, Bart Tarenskeen, Wiro Mahieu, Miguel Boelens and played and recorded extensively with the projects Krach, Rok Zalokar Trio and now ROEST.
Also Ruud teaches drums and bandcoaching at musicschool CKC & Partners in Zoetermeer and in his own studio in Rotterdam (NL).
Ruud is part of artistic breeding ground 'Batavierhuis' in Rotterdam.
